AJE Earring Challenge #17

Teaching at our store yesterday was Melanie Rees, a wire-wrapping artist from Kansas City.  It was a fun day indeed!

This first creation above was made by Jennifer.  She wire-wrapped purple AB chinese crystals on gently curved silver-plated wires.  The perfect finishing touches are the beautiful lampwork beads, also made by Jennifer.

As for myself...these carefree earrings above were fun to make.  I looped the wire into swirling petals, attached a couple of buttons and topped them off with Vintage Rose Swarovski crystal flatbacks..... Ta-Dah!

A Variety Of Jewelry Has Been Made

I love being surrounded by piles of ribbons, jars of buttons, and boxes and walls full of beads.  I feel like a lucky person.  This has been such a fun challenge, with a trinket here and a flourish there, a variety of jewelry has been created.  We can't wait for the reveal to show what's been made with the beautiful Bead Soup we received from Dana Hickey of Magpie Approved.  One thing for sure...it's so easy to make things that you love work together!

Button Bracelet and Earrings

Button, button, who's got the button?  This bracelet and earring set certainly does - and more!  Lately, we seem to be fascinated with buttons.  They really make the most interesting and vintage-looking jewelry.  The buttons are set on silver-plated filigrees which can be found here, and then linked together with jumprings and finished with a beautiful toggle.  The bracelet can be found here.
